Sally Board Cancer Benefit

Dear Coach and Wrestling Fans,
There has always been one constant with the wrestling people in the state of Minnesota. No matter who wins the big match or how big the rivalry is, we have always come to the aid of each other in a time of need. The wrestling family is a competitive family no doubt, but even more importantly we are fiercely loyal people.
This letter is being written with a heavy heart and with the hope that you and your program may find it in your own hearts to make a donation to the Sally Board Cancer Benefit. Sally and Bob have been married now for 47 years. Sally is the mother of 3 wonderful children and 9 grandchildren. Sally has been a pillar in the community of Coon Rapids for 40 plus years.
Many of us have had the pleasure of knowing Bob and Sally Board over the years. The Board's have touched our lives in various ways. Sally's husband, Bob, was the head wrestling coach at Coon Rapids High School for 36 years. Sally was a constant presence at all the dual meets and tournaments throughout all those years, often times taking kids who were having a difficult time making weight into her home. Sally always found something positive to say and was very knowledgeable about the sport. You could always lean on her for support. Now Sally needs someone to lean on.
Unfortunately, Sally has been diagnosed with a rare form of cancer that is responsible for spiraling financial obligations beyond the average person's means. Sally and Bob are very proud people and would never ask anybody for help. Therefore, we are asking for them.
We are planning a benefit to help defray the costs for Sally on Saturday, February 5th, 2005 at the Fridley VFW located on the corner of Osborne Rd. and Central Ave. starting at 6:00P.M. The cost per ticket is $25.00. Tickets may be purchased at the door.
All the work has been done for you, all you have to do is show up. We have planned a fun filled evening for you with great music;The Rockin Hollywoods, hors d'ouevres, a silent auction, prizes and camaraderie. It should truly be a special evening!
Financial donations as well as door prizes may be donated as well. Door prizes will be auctioned off or given away as free gifts. Please make checks payable to the Sally Board Benefit.
