School of Champions Kicks Off - J Robinson to Instruct Technique Sessions

Minneapolis, MN -- The School of Champions kicked off its 2007 fall
training season on Sunday, September 16. “We’re excited about the
quality kids in the program and advancing the technique and intensity
with the group of guys we have. Our staff is committed to assisting the
athletes in reaching a higher performance level” said Director Cole
Konrad. Konrad also announced University of Minnesota head wrestling
coach, J Robinson will be instructing various technique sessions
throughout the fall training. The School of Champions began its first
session on Septemeber 16th with evening sessions available to ages 6-18
concluding November 22nd.
The School of Champions is prior to the regular wrestling season.
Sessions consist of intense pre-season training three times a week to
help wrestlers be in shape and ready to go when their wrestling season
begins. Training sessions consist of running, technique, hard wrestling
and weight training. The School of Champions goals are to increase
physical capabilities, develop timing, teach proper weight management
techniques, video critiquing, mental training and goal setting for the
upcoming season. Also available are age appropriate technique sessions
offered once a week.
Youth instruction (6-12 years of age) takes place Thursday nights
September 20th-November 15th and costs $100. Jr. High/High School
instruction (12-18 years of age) takes place Tuesday nights September
18th-November 12th and costs $170. Select instruction (structured for
the development of year round wrestlers) takes place Sunday, Tuesday
and Thursday nights September 16th-November 15th and costs $340.
