May 26, 2009
Minneapolis, MN -- The 2009 Trident Challenge National Fitness
Championships will took place, Saturday, May 16, on the campus of the
University of Minnesota. The Trident Challenge pit athletes versus
athlete and team versus team from various high schools. Teams consisted
of 10-15 athletes with each individual competing in the disciplines of
swimming, push-ups, sit-ups, pull-ups and running.
The Trident Challenge National Fitness Championships offered a great
opportunity for high school students to showcase their talents in a
competition similar to the Physical Fitness Testing conducted in school
curriculum.
Individual National Champions were crowned at each grade level with the
top 6 finishers in each category earning All-American honors. The event
also provided athletes a great opportunity to fundraise for their high
school program with $4500 in prize money to be awarded to the winning
school/club team. (School, Athletic Department, Booster Club, etc.)
Congratulations to 2009 Winners!!
