
Decker, Lembeck and Bush to go ‘On the Mat’ this week

Upper Iowa University wrestler Justin Decker, former University of
Northern Iowa All-American Chris Lembeck and Davenport Assumption (IA)
High School head coach Pete Bush will be radio show guests on the
program this Wednesday.
Senior Justin Decker competes for the Upper Iowa Peacocks at 157
pounds. He is 33 years old and is making the most of his last semester
of athletic eligibility. He owns a record of 12-5 heading into last
weekend and is looking to help his team achieve a top 5 finish at the
NCAA Division II Championships in March in Omaha, Nebraska.
Chris Lembeck earned All-American status as a UNI Panther by placing
5th in the nation at 158 pounds in 1988. He has coached at the high
school and youth levels for several years and has recently designed a
new training program called “Optimized Wrestling Systems.”
Pete Bush is the head coach at his high school alma mater, Davenport
Assumption. Bush’s team is currently ranked 3rd in the state in Class
2A and has seven wrestlers ranked in the top 10. As an athlete, he won
three Big Ten titles and was an NCAA Champion for the University of
Iowa in 1982 at 190 pounds.
