8th ranked Elk River beat 7th Ranked Cambridge 31-29 to win its first Kiffmeyer Duals Trophy. Elk River won by the way of the fall as they pinned three Cambridge wrestlers. Cambridge won seven matches but lost at heavyweight 1-0 to seal the win for the Elks.
Albert Lea (ranked 10th) beat Tech (ranked 6th) 33-31 in a thriller as Albert Lea recorded three falls from 152-171 to seal the win. Tech was winning at the 171 pound match before getting caught and pinned. Tech had to forfeit at 125 due to an injury. Tech won seven matches but only recorded two falls.
Hutchinson wrestled a good tourney as they lost a close one to Elk River first round and bounced back to beat Waconia and Brainerd to finish 5th.
The B Squad was won by Cambridge as they defeated Hutchinson 34-31. Tech placed 3rd while Albert Lea placed 5th.
The Duals had 5 teams ranked in state and 18 wrestlers ranked in state.
