The Fergus Falls Otters moved to 6-0 in duals as they handled
a young inexperienced Moorhead team 65-4. They earned 6 pins, a
forfeit, a technical fall and 3 major decisions in the process.
Mike Swenson at 103# performed admirably and aggressively in his
16-1 technical fall. The best match of the night was an exciting
match-up between Moorhead's Andrew Gaughan and the Otter's Jared
Bangs at 145#. It was 3 all after the 1st period; Jared led by two
after two. In period three Gaughan escaped but was taken down by
Jared. A reversal by Gaughan left him 1 point short. Another
highlight came at 189 with two strong aggressive wrestlers. For
the Otters, Andy Price managed to wear down Ben Thoreson for a one
point decision.
Saturday the Otters will be at the West Fargo Invite with the
action starting at 10:30 AM.
