Davis wins 700th
January 29, 2005
Bloomington -- Owatonna went 3-0 to win the Bloomington Kennedy Duals, losing just three individual matches all day while beating Robbinsdale Armstrong 64-6, New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva 52-3 and Hastings 52-6.
Owatonna surpassed three numerical milestones and the quarterfinals win over NRHEG brought with it two items: Huskies head coach Scot Davis logged his 700th career win at his alma mater, Kennedy. Also, Owatonna collected its 50th of the season, eclipsing the state record the Huskies set in 2001-'02.
With the 168 team points garnered in the trio of victories, Owatonna broke its own state record of 3,178 set by the Huskies two seasons ago. The Huskies now have 3,241 in the current season.
Owatonna (51-1) won 38 matches at Kennedy and the Huskies now have 566, 45 shy of their state record.
