Central Minnesota Mat Rats Report

Class A
1. The Pioneers Pierz had their first wrestling event Dec. 10 at the Brainerd tournament. They didn't have all of their wrestlers competing; but still had a very strong showing. The Pioneers scored 170 points to claim third place in a field of 17 teams. Kyle Bednar and Jon Andres claimed championships and Hank Virnig, Matt Mrnak and Cody Luberts were all runner-ups and Kyle Girtz claimed fourth place in the tourneys toughest weight and Nick Gruber claimed fifth place. This was done with just four good practices.
2. The Eagles of New York Mills have had a very solid start to this season with huge wins over ranked foes. The Eagles opened their season with a big win over Park Region Conference foe Parkers Prairie 60-29. Then in one weeks time the Eagles defeated Frazee 30-24 and Greenbush-Middle River-Badger 45-24. Then at the Barnesville duals the Eagles went 5-0 with big wins over No. 3AA rated Detroit Lakes 33-24, No. 11 Wheaton-Herman/Norcross 35-31, Lean and Mean Barnesville 42-24, 36-27 over a solid Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton team and 57-18 over Pelican Rapids. Cody Salo, Jason Burg and Tyler Wegscheid were all 5-0 and Jesse Bauck, Jared Hotakainen, Tim Wegscheid and Brent Weller were all 4-1 on the day to led the way for the Eagles.
3. The Falcons of Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City started their season with a win over rival KMS 54-12. The Falcons topped the field of six teams at their invitational with 211 points. They won seven championships; Ben Meyer, Jason Losing, A. J. Frederickson, Nic Leither, Matt Leither and Bill Wheeler. Claiming seconds were Matt Pearson, Josh Mages and Aaron Rouser. Thirds by Eric Peterson and Adam Hoeper and fourth by Jared Peterson.
4. The Bullets of Wheaton-Herman/Norcross had a very strong showing to open the season at the Wahpeton tourney where they claimed second with 207 points over a field of thirteen teams. The Bullets placed nine wrestlers in the top four including two championships by Casey Grey and Cody Rinke. They had four seconds by Jerod Lennox, Brady Sykora, Shane Fickes and T. J. Severance. Third by Casey Neuman and a pair of fourths by Austin Nilson and Nate Mord. The Bullets had a strong showing at the Barnesville duals with wins over Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton 39-23, Barnesville 38-33 and Red Lake County Central 64-15. They lost very good duals to No. 3AA Detroit Lakes 36-31 and to No. 3A New York Mills 35-31. Casey Gray and T. J. Severance were both 5-0 and Shane Fickes and Cody Rinke were both 4-1 on the day for the Bullets.
5. The Raiders of Bertha-Hewitt/Verndale have been slowed down to start their season because of their successful football season. The Raiders scored 117 points to claim seventh place at the Wadena tourney. They claimed one championship by Zak Lambert and two runners ups by Ethan Kern and Josh Denny. One third by Tony Schul and a fourth place by Matt Moenkedick. The Raiders crushed PLPRB 53-25. The Raiders were 2-1 at the Park Rapids duals with a win over Park Rapids 45-27 and Wadena-Deer Creek 40-39 and they drop a dual to Blackduck/Cass Lake/Bena 44-24. Brothers Matt, Sam and Aaron Moenkedick and Jasper Osyter were all 3-0 to led the way for the Raiders.
6. The Raiders of Mille Lacs have had strong start to their season by claiming the championship at the Rush City tournament with 213 points. The Raiders had eleven wrestlers place in the top four. They claimed four championship by Geoff Springer, Tyler Walters, Nolan Boucher and Jon Odle. They had three seconds by Rob Olson, Pat Sullivan and Kyle Prickett and and a pair of thirds by Nick Pfaff and Joe Odle. The Raiders also had a pair of fourths by Luke Gingery and Brandon Brown. The Raiders had a strong showing at the West Central Area tourney with 115.5 points to claim fourth place in a field of twelve teams. With six place winners in the top four, including two championships by Nolan Boucher and Nick Pfaff. They had a pair of seconds by Rob Olson and Geoff Springer, third by Tyler Walters and Jon Odle place fourth.
7. The Bulldogs of Paynesville started their season by claiming second at the Bulldog duals. They topped PLPRB 54-25 and Rocori 35-34 before dropping the championship to host Foley 59-13. Sean Glenz, Joel Kerzman and Jordan Christian led the way with 3-0 marks for the day. The Bulldogs topped Glencoe-Silver Lake 34-26 and lost duals to Litchfield 38-28 and Albany 37-27. The Bulldogs claimed fifth place at the Edison Duals with wins over Ellsworth 57-18 and St. Paul Highland Park 42-26. They did drop two duals to Dassel-Cokato 38-30 and Owatonna 43-18. Four Bulldogs went undefeated; Sean Glenz, Joe Sheridan, Jack Mueller and Jordan Christian.
8. The Eagles of Eden Valley-Watkins have really been slowed by their football success. With just three wrestlers competing at the BBE tourney they scored 37.5 points. Eric Sullinger claimed a championship and Ryan Sullivan was second. At the ACGC tourney they score 25 points with Eric Sullinger claiming second and Ryan Sullivan fourth place. The Eagles scored 72 points at the Willmar tourney with Eric Sullinger claiming the championship and Ryan Sullivan place third and Ryan Holthaus took fourth place.
9. The Bulldogs of Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted/Lester Prairie started off a little bit slow with 80 points for six place at their invitational, with Tyler Kloos claiming second, one third by Harrison Kusske and four wrestlers claimed fourth; Nate Selchow, Jason Latzke, Ryan Miller and Steve Bobrowske. The Bulldogs topped Kimball 63-9, Rockford 48-15 and Saint Croix Lutheran 60-13. They did drop at dual to a very good Watertown-Mayer team 52-6. The Bulldogs had an impressive showing at the Shakopee tourney by scoring 180 points to claim third place. They had eight wrestlers place in the top four, led by championships by Tyler Kloos, Alex Schuleter and Jason Latzke. Harrison Kusskie claimed second and a trio of thirds by Steve Bobrowske, Ryan Miller and Mychel Penez and Nick Selchow took fourth place.
10. The Cowboys of Breckenridge are off to a to a good start with dual meet wins over WCA 48-25, Osakis 42-24 and Minnehaha Academy 57-21. They scored 72.5 points at the Whapeton tourney to finish eighth. The Cowboys had four wrestlers place in the top four. Spencer Beech was third, Jesse Stuhrenberg was fourth, Jon Kraus was fourth and Tyler Ascheman was fifth. The Cowboys had a good showing at the Paul Bunyan tourney by scoring 63 points and they had two runner ups; Spencer Beech and Tyler Ascheman.
11. The Braves of Benson had a very good start to their season with wins over MACCRAY 42-28, Renville County West 57-22 and Tracy Milroy-Balaton 40-30.The Braves scored 123 points to claim fifth place at the Willmar tourney. They had five wrestlers place in the top four spots. Scott Thompson claimed a championship and a trio of seconds by Abe Miller, Ryan Thompson and Paul Carruth. The Braves did have a third place by Wade Miller and fourth place finish by Paul Syverson.
12. The Fighting Saints of Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg are off to a good start to their season with strong showings at the Melrose tourney and Willmar tourneys. The Fighting Saints claimed second place with 165 points at Melrose. They had seven wrestlers place in the top four. They were led by a trio of champions; Kevin Steinhaus, Darrin Carlson and Kordell VanHeuveln. They also had a trio of seconds by Josh Wentzel, Jeremy Merrill and Spencer Almen and a fourth by Caleb Henry.
Class AA
1. The Knights of Saint Michael-Albertville started the 2004-2005 season with a a trio of big dual meet wins over Big Lake 48-9, Mora 56-9 and North Branch 55-7. The Knights topped the field of eight teams at their own tourney with an impressive 249.5 points. They had five champions; David Thorn, Dan Greeno, Mike Thorn, Chad Little and Mickey Kirk. The Knights also had five seconds by Andy Hackenmueller, Joe Grygelko, Jake Grygelko and Caleb McEachern. The Knights crushed the field of teams at the Coon Rapids duals with wins over Rosemount 56-7, White Bear Lake 45-12 and Coon Rapids 42-12.
2. The Falcons of Foley are off to a very strong start with crushing wins over their foes at the Foley duals. They crushed Parkers Prairie 76-0, Zimmerman 69-6 and Paynesville 59-13. They had nine wrestlers that went 3-0 on the day. The Falcons continue to crush their foes with conference wins over Princeton 71-0 and North Branch 49-18. They topped Braham 52-13 and destroyed St. Cloud Tech 58-12. The Falcons had their strongest showing in recent years at the Paul Bunyan tourney. The claimed second in a solid field of seventeen teams. They scored 174.5 points and placed nine wrestlers in the top six places. They were led by a championship won by Kyle Henry and seconds by Jared Freudenberg and Greg Stumvoll. Also claiming a pair of thirds Jake Bowland and Mike Fouquette, fourth by Zach Rajkowski, fifth by Zach LaVigne and a pair of sixths by Jake Jaeckels and Derek Studenski.
3. The Dragons of Litchfield are off to a very strong start with a very good showing to win their own invitational with 197.5 points over a pretty solid field of teams. The Dragons placed ten wrestlers in the top four. Three championship were won by Beau Penk, A. J. Werner and Cory Schlack. Blayne Johnson and Robi Evenson with both runner ups. They claimed a pair of thirds by John Malepsy and Frank Koch and a trio of fourths by Jared Fleming, Mike Knisely and Reed Wimmer. The Dragons had a very strong showing at the Milaca duals by topping three foes Mound-Westonka 47-17, Elk River 42-28 and in a mild upset over a very good Milaca team 33-32. Reed Wimmer, AJ Werner and Frank Koch were all 3-0 at Milaca and Blayne Johnson was 2-0 on the day to led the way for the Dragons.
4. The Wolves of Milaca are off to a solid start to their season; despite missing a few regulars at the time of this writing. The Wolves opened up the 2004-2005 season with win over Aitkin 36-24, Zimmerman 58-18 and Edison 59-17. The Wolves claimed second place at the Waconia duals with wins over Wayzata 55-12 and Waconia 52-18 before dropping the championship to a solid AAA Hastings team 42-23. John Fradette, Andy Kotsmith and Steve Vedders were all 3-0 at the Waconia duals. The Wolves claimed second at their dual meet invitational with wins over Braham 72-4 and Albany 51-19 before dropping a very close dual to Litchfield 33-32 in the championship match.
5. The Lakers of Minnewaska are off to another strong start with a good performance at the Monticello duals with wins over Sauk Rapids 46-18, Big Lake 30-27 and Monticello 53-18. They dropped a very close dual to Hutchinson 34-33. The Lakers claimed fifth place with three wrestlers going 4-0; Colin Cihlar, Taylor Jergenson and Alan Lutterman and three that were 3-1; Joe Swartz, Sam Garacke and Trevor Larson to led the way on the day for them. The Lakers topped WCS for LQPV 60-18. The Lakers turned in a great team performance with thirteen place winners to score 212 points to claim the championship at the Willmar tourney. The Lakers had three champions; Colin Cihlar, Cody Pahan and Alan Lutterman and a pair of seconds by Joe Swartz and Sam Goracke. They had four thirds by David Bond, Dan Braaten, Taylor Jergenson and Trevor Larson and four fourths by Ira Ammerud, Justin Frederich, Cass Kreitlow and Jason Anderson.
6. The Mainstreeters of Sauk Centre started their season at the Wadena tourney where they scored 132.5 points to claim sixth place. They had six wrestlers place in the top four, with two championships by Brain Beilke and Zach Winter. They had a pair of thirds by Jozy Olson and Kurt Haakinson and a pair of fourths by Jake Uphus and Brad Hartigan. They topped Royalton 48-24 in their first dual meet of the season. The Mainstreeters scored 117 points to claim third at the Willmar tourney with ten wrestlers placing in the top four. Brian Beilke, Zach Winter and Kurt Haakinson all claimed championships and Brad Hartigan claimed second place. A trio of thirds by Adam Helgeson, Steve Hollenkamp and Weston Wander and a trio of fourths by Jozie Olson, Jake Uphus and Brian Ruegemer.
7. The Warriors of BOLD/BLH are off to a very strong start to their season with a win over the No. 12A LCWM/ML 37-24. The Warriors also topped the field of eight teams in their own invitational with 165 points. The Warriors had twelve wrestlers place in the top four with three champions; Pat LeVasseur, Tom Elfering and Trent Squibb. Second by Cole Neubauer and four thirds by Ben Aaseth, Ross Neubauer, Jon Kramer and Bailey Reittman. Chris Harmon, Mark Revier, Gerald Frieberg and Brian Hagen all claimed fourths. The Warriors had a very impressive showing at the Paul Bunyan tourney where they scored 139 points to claim fifth place in a strong field of seventeen teams. They had eight wrestlers place in the top six, led by a championship by Tom Elfering. Pat LaVasseur claimed second and a pair of Trent Squibb and Ross Neubauer. The rest of the place winners include Mark Revier was fourth, Cole Neubauer and Brian Hagen were both fifth and Mark Pietig was sixth.
8. The Sting of Yellow Medicine East are off to a good start to their season with a solid performance at the BOLD/BLH invitational with 146 points to claim second place. Eleven place winners in the top four led by eight seconds by Blaine Weber, Landon Cole, Ryan Tongen, Chad Listul, Matt Williams, Tom Jacobson, Jordan Stock and Spenser Sonnerud. Erick Isfeld was third and Austin Cole was fourth. The Sting lost a very close dual on criteria to Canby 33-33 and crushed Marshall 60-10. The Sting scored 167 points to claim fourth place at the Willmar tourney. With nine wrestlers in the top four including champions Chad Listul and Ryan Tongen. Blaine Weber, Erick Isfeld and Matt Williams were all second and a pair of thirds by Austen Cole and Landon Cole. Wyatt Sand and Tom Jacobson both finished fourth.
9. The Hornets of Big Lake are off to a good start with big dual meet wins over Kimball 65-15 and Annandale/Maple Lake 44-26. The Hornets were 2-2 at the Monticello duals with wins over Apollo 51-17 and North Branch 42-27. They dropped a very close dual to a good Minnewaska team 30-27 and they lost to a underated St. Francis team 56-6. Leading the way for the Hornets were Keith Lumley 4-0 and Nic Grecula, Trevor Knaeble, Aaron Stolp and Justin Nelson were 3-1 on the day. The Hornets claimed the championship at their own invitational. The Hornets won two championships; Justin Nelson and Keith Lumley. They had a trio of runnerups; Nick Grecula, Trevor Knaeble and Kyle Curtis and Aaron Medissen, Ben Brown, Tyler Sonnenstahl and Tee Baker all earn thirds.
10. The Gobblers of Aitkin are 3-2 in duals thus far with wins over Hibbing 45-15, Zimmerman 58-18 and Edison 52-19. They lost duals to a very good Grand Rapids 47-25 and Milaca 36-24.
11. The Lightning of Annandale/Maple Lake have had a good start to their season with dual meet wins over Kimball 66-3, Delano 46-27, Buffalo 45-25 and Rogers 78-9. They did drop a dual to a good Big Lake team 44-26. At the Monticello duals they went 2-2 with wins over Albany 34-33 and North Branch 42-36. They dropped duals to Hutchinson 36-33 and to Little Falls 51-15. Ben Anderson, Matt Schultz, Jake Anderson and Adam Michalski all went 4-0 to led the way. The Lightning traveled west to claim third place at the West Central Area (Grant County Tourney) with 124.5 points out of a twelve team field of teams. They had seven wrestlers in the top four, led by a championship by Ben Anderson and seconds by Matt Schultz and Adam Michalksi. Sam Nordlie, Joe Nordlie and Joe Puncochar all earn thirds and Pete Nordlie earned a fourth place finish.
12. The Bulldogs of Becker are slowed a little because of their success in football. They dropped a WCC dual to Waconia 34-29. The Bulldogs had a strong showing at the Paul Bunyan tourney with 97 points to claim eight out of a strong seventeen field of teams. Robert Koranda and Mike Hopkins both claimed thirds, Jeremy Nelson and Kevin O'Brien both earned fifths and Riley Holub and Brandon Backes were both sixth for a total of six wrestlers placing in the top six.
Both Rocori Spartans, Albany Huskies and Long Prairie-Grey Eagle are off to good starts but didn't make the top twelve area teams.
Class AAA
1. The Flyers of Little Falls are off to a very strong start to their season with a huge win over section rival Bemidji 37-27 and Long Prairie-Grey Eagle 59-9. The Flyers have a pair of wins over CLC teams; Rocori 34-24 and Sauk Rapids 44-18. The Flyers claimed third place at the Monticello duals with wins over Annandale/Maple Lake 51-15, Monticell0 53-20 and New Ulm 54-16. They did drop their semifinal dual to under rated St. Francis 42-21. Jason Brill, Ted Wilczek and Mike Lodermeier were all 4-0 and Randy Przybilla, Troy Biermeier, Andy Hegna and Josh Bue were all 3-1 on the day. The Flyers topped three foes at the Princeton quadrangular; Princeton 70-6, Maple Grove 66-9 and Sibley East 35-24. The Flyers had seven wrestlers go 3-0 at the quadrangular; Jason Brill, Randy Przybilla, Ted Wilczek, Troy Biermaier, Josh Bue, Andy Hegna and Mike Lodermeier.
2. The Brainerd Warriors have a pair of CLC wins over Willmar 31-28 and St. Cloud Tech 39-28 and section foe Moorhead 45-27. The Warriors claimed second place at the Blue Earth tourney with 196 points; with eleven wrestlers placing in the top four. They crown three championships by Tyler Jensen, Jake Patnode and Adam Hahnert. The Warriors had a pair of seconds by Kyle Dukowitz and Ryan McKay and a pair of thirds by Scott Padmos and Mitch Yager. Nick Langwall, Dan Lasher, Nick Loreno and Grant Jaeche all earned fourth places. In a good showing at their own invitational they claimed seventh place with 125 points out of a strong field of seventeen teams. With eight placing in the top six; led by one championship by Kyle Dukowitz. Ryan McKay earned third place, Adam Hahnert earned fourth place and Nate Rubin fifth and a trio of sixths by Andrew Wachsmuth, Nick Lingwall and Nick Loreno.
3. The Cardinals of Willmar started their season with a CLC win over St. Cloud Tech 37-29. They claimed second at the ACGC classic tourney with 190.5 points; including five championships by Drew Larson, Brady Gilb, Peter Johnson, Tony Neuman and Ben Thonvold. The Cardinals had a trio of seconds by Nick Dahlke, Brandt Haglund and Kyle Nelson. They dropped a very close CLC dual to Brainerd 31-28 and topped Moorhead 40-25. The Cardinals claimed second at their own invitational with 179 points; despite missing two starters. The Cards had twelve wrestlers place in the top four including three championships by Tony Neuman, Ben Thonvold and Kyle Nelson. Peter Johnson and Jesse Alonza both earned seconds and a pair of thirds by Eric Aurand and Mike Lilf. They had pair of fourths by Brandt Haglund and Trent Molscek.
4. The Bison of Buffalo got off to a strong start to their season by claiming second place at the Osseo tourney with 132 points. The Bison had seven wrestlers place in the top four including championships by Jeremy Welter and Mike Christensen. They had four thirds by Derek Klatt, Erik Rogness, Justin Franke and Carter Vogt and a fourth by Pat Jonas. The Bison topped section foe Wayzata 37-36 and lost to Dassel Cokato in a very good dual 38-33. They topped Rogers 75-6 and lost to a good Annandale/Maple Lake team 45-25. The Bison scored 116 points at the Chaska tourney to claim sixth place. They had one champion; Mike Christenson, a pair seconds by Tyler Reiss and Jeremy Welter and Justin Franke claimed fourth place.
5. The Cardinals of Alexandria have had two good showings thus far as they claimed fourth place at the Litchfield tourney with 140. 5 points. They had eight place winners in the top four, including a championship by John Amundson and a pair of seconds by Damon Bullock and Tanner Weltzin. Joel Wales, Chris Hobbs and Nate Kelly all claimed thirds and Brett Ripley earned a fourth place. The Cards have topped Sartell in CLC action 46-24 and dropped a close dual to Rocori 36-33. They claimed second place at the West Central Area Tourney (Grant County) with a 131 points in a field of twelve teams. They had seven wrestlers place in the top four including; Tanner Weltzin second, John Amundson third, Damon Bullock third, Chris Hobbs third, Nate Kelly fourth, Dan Kirscht fourth and Pat Barrett fourth.
6. The Storm of Sauk Rapids topped Royalton and lost a close dual to Albany to start the Storm season. The Storm were 1-3 at the Monticello duals with a win over Apollo 59-16 and they lost close duals to New Ulm 38-33 and Hutchinson 37-27. They dropped a 45-18 dual to a good Minnewaska team. Chris Allen and Tyler Spiczka and Wes Voigt and Evan Warnert were both 3-1 on the day. They dropped a CLC dual to Little Falls 44-18. The Storm dropped a very close dual to Albany 32-30 and they topped Royalton/USA 46-27. At the Paul Bunyan tourney they scored 58 points and they had three place winners in the is seventeen team field of teams. Mike Hines was fourth, Evan Warnert was fifth and Zach Rudolph earned a sixth place.
7. The Tigers of St. Cloud Tech started their season at the Osseo tourney where they scored 99 points to claim sixth place. The Tigers had five place in the top four, led by a championship by Paul Denne. John Mailloux claimed second, and Andy Johnston and Alex Braun both claimed thirds and Ryan Cameron earned a fourth place. The Tigers have dropped two CLC duals to Willmar 37-29 and to Brainerd 39-28. They lost to a very good Foley team 58-12 and topped North Brand 43-26. They scored 122.5 points to claim fifth place at the STMA tourney with five placing in the top four. The Tigers claimed three championships by Andy Johnston, Paul Denne and Derrik Orth. John Mailloux claimed third and Alex Braun took fourth place. The Tigers scored 83 points to claim eleventh place out of seventeen teams at the Paul Bunyan tourney. They had four wrestlers place including a championship by Paul Denne, second by Derrick Orth, third by Andy Johnston and fourth by John Mailloux.
8. The Spuds of Moorhead topped Fergus Falls 41-31 to start their 2004 season. They scored 90 points at the STMA tourney to claim seventh place with seven wrestlers placing in the top four. Jake Handegard earned second place, Jay Thoreson and Justin Lavaile earned third places. The Spuds had four fourths by Bryan Rodriquez, Matt Langeberg, Beau Tweetin and Justin Phillippi. The Spuds dropped a dual to section 8AAA foe Brainerd 45-27 and to Willmar 40-25. The Spuds had a good showing at the Fargo North tourney with 126 points to claim fifth place. They had six wrestlers place in the top five; including one championship by Jay Thoreson. Beau Tweetin and Matt Langeburg were both second. Justin Phillippi was third, Lee Timm was fourth and Jake Handegard earned a fifth place.
9. The Vikings of North Branch topped Hinckley-Finlayson 57-24, Princeton 57-21 and MCRA 46-27 to start their season. The Vikings have a dual meet win over Rum
River Conference foe Mora 46-29. At the Monticello duals they topped Monticello 49-20, Albany 42-32 and they dropped a pair to ANML 42-36 and to Big Lake 42-27. Jeremy Bergerson, Zach Backus and Jeff Holmgren were all 4-0 and Joe Lofboom, Corey Haley and Bill Oehler were all 3-1 on the day. The lost to Rum River Conference foe Foley 49-18 and lost a non-conference dual to St. Cloud Tech 43-26. The Vikings claimed third place at the Big Lake tourney with seven wrestlers placing in the top three. Jeff Holmgren and Jeremy Bergerson won championships and Joe Lofboom, Ryan Decorsey, Corey Haley and Bill Oehlers all earn seconds. Earning a third place for the Vikings was Vince Zafke.
10. The Wildcats of Chisago Lakes topped Sommerset, WI 43-30 and dropped duals to Blaine 50-12 and Grand Rapids 60-18. Mitch and Luke Anderson were both 3--0 and Adam Gemuenden also went 3-0 on the day. The Wildcats had a very good showing at the Prior Lake tourney by scoring 163 points to claim third place. They had nine place winners in the top four including one championship by Mitch Anderson. They had a four of seconds by Brian Jones, Bobby Ferrier, Chad Stenson and Luke Anderson a trio of thirds by Adam Gemuenden, Mike Weller and John Hoogie and one fourth by Kelly Kowalenko.
11. The Eagles of St. Cloud Apollo started their season at the Monticello duals where they were 0-4; Big Lake 41-24, Albany 48-30, Sauk Rapids 59-16 and Saint Francis 76-0. Mike Abrego was 3-1 on the day for the Eagles. They topped Holdingford 62-15. The Eagles scored 24 points at the Paul Bunyan tourney with one place winner, Mike Abrego claimed a fifth place.
12. The Tigers of Princeton started their season by topping Hinkley-Finlayson 42-32 and they dropped a pair to North Branch 57-21 and to MCRA 55-30. They lost to Rum River Conference foe Foley 71-0. The Tigers scored 87 points at the Maple Grove tourney where they had five place winners including a championship by Matt Jensen, second by Brad Aasen and Derek Fay, third by Nick Peltier and Chad Burholder placed fourth.
