Three former Hibbing Bluejackets are being inducted into the Hibbing High School Athletic Hall of Fame on Friday, July 7th at 4 PM at the historic Hibbing High School Auditorium.

Wayne Johnson, coach of the Bluejackets for 20 years, along with Tim Tekautz and David Calliguri will be part of the ceremony. Numerous other Bluejacket standouts are members including NBA great Kevin McHale!

Johnson, a two-time region champion for Grand Rapids High School in the 1960's, coached seven state champions at Hibbing along with numerous other state placewinners in the individuals and team competition. Johnson was a former president of the State Coaches Association, All-Star Team coach, writer for the Guillotine and is a member of the Minnesota Wrestling Coaches Association Dave Bartelma Wrestling Hall of Fame.

Tekautz was a dominant heavyweight for the Bluejackets in the late 1980's where he was a two-time state champion. He went on to wrestle at NDSU where he was an All-American.

Calliguri dominated the lower weights where he earned 70 straight victories for the Bluejackets on his way to winning two state championships in the mid 1980's. Calliguri was also an All-American for NDSU.
