Benefit dinner for Torrey Line

December 20, 2006

On August 28, 2006, Torrey Line, son of Mike and Kim Line, and an incoming senior at Browerville High School, was diagnosed with Osteo Genic Sarcoma-a form of cancer-in the femur bone of his left leg

On September 12, 2006, Torrey began an aggressive form of chemotherapy at Fairview University Children’s Hospital on a weekly basis. Because of this treatment, Torrey has been unable to physically attend classes at Browerville High School or participate in athletics where he has been a valuable member of the Tiger Football team and a gifted wrestler for the Browerville-Eagle Valley Broncos.

On December 7, Torrey had surgery to remove approximately six inches from his femur bone and also had a complete knee replacement. He will spend most of December recovering from surgery and will resume chemotherapy treatments in January 2007.

The 2006 Tiger Volleyball team is sponsoring a spaghetti dinner benefit for Torrey and his family on Friday, January 12, 2007. The benefit will be held at Browerville High School from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Freewill donations will be appreciated to help Torrey and his family with medical, travel and lodging expenses. Matching funds have been applied for by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.
