Redwood Valley wrestling will be celebrating 70 years of high school
wrestling on December 20th. The Cardinals will take on rivals Wabasso,
RRCWWG and MACCRAY at 5:00 pm and all Redwood Wrestling Alumni will be
allowed into the match for free. We will be honoring all wrestlers who
are in attendance regardless of who they wrestled for.
Redwood Falls started wrestling in 1937-38 and over the years has
accumulated a record of 472-469-12. There have been fourteen coaches
throughout the seventy years highlighted by Virg Sales (1946-1964)
collecting a record of 176-50-4, and Dennis Stoterau (1976-1995) with a

Smith (1940), Jim Kuelbs (1956), Harlan Leopold (1957, 1961), Howard
Leopold (1961, 1962, 1963), and Duane Heiling (1981). There have been

fifth-place finishers. The career win leader is Matt Johnson with 165
