Jackson County Central senior Travis Rutt won his 247th match Saturday
at the Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton Tournament breaking the Minnesota
high school career wins record. The win happened in the 171 pound
semifinals when Rutt pinned Matt Sieberg of Saint Clair at 1:29. He
added another win in the finals putting his win total at 248.
Rutt is now at the top of the the career wins list, a position
previously held by Kirk Anderson of Barnesville who broke the record at
last year's state tournament.
Rutt will be competing for his second state title this year. He also
has two third place finishes and a fourth place finish to his credit.
