Cobbers Start Season Ranked 8th
For the past two seasons, Concordia has edged their way into national prominence in the NCAA Division III wrestling scene. The Cobbers have gone from off the charts in 2006-07 to a third-place region finish in 2007-08 to finishing the 2008-09 season being ranked eighth in the nation. more

The Minnesota State wrestling squad was picked to repeat as Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference champions in the NSIC Preseason Coaches poll. The Mavericks, owners of a 7-0 league record last season, owned a six-point edge over Augustana and a nine-point edge over Upper Iowa and St. Cloud State who shared third place. more

The Augsburg College wrestling team is ranked No. 2 in the Brute-Adidas/National Wrestling Coaches Association Division III preseason national poll, it was announced this week. Augsburg has six wrestlers ranked in individual weight class rankings, including two top-ranked wrestlers. more

The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference announced today that the Southwest Minnesota State wrestling team has been picked seventh in the 2009 Preseason Coaches’ Poll. SMSU received 12 points in the poll, as voted on by the conference’s eight head coaches. The Mustangs also landed four wrestlers in the top five in the individual rankings. more

Who is Coach J Robinson? Robinson has had an illustrious career as an Army Ranger during the Vietnam War, an Olympic wrestler and one of the greatest coaches in University of Minnesota history. Robinson demonstrated his bravery by telling a roomful of military policemen how he listens to Britney Spears and Lady Gaga to get motivated. Robinson is also caring. He flew to Iraq recently to motivate the troops and when he learned the government wasn't going to pay his way, he was perfectly willing to fly halfway around world on his own dime. All to offer a simple "Thank you." more
